St Martin Princess Juliana Int'l. Arpt. (SXM) Car Hire

All additional drivers must meet all hire requirements. All additional drivers must appear at the hire counter, present their driving licence and sign the rental agreement. Additional drivers can be added to the contract at any time during the hire, but only at the pick-up location. Spouses or domestic partners who meet the same age and driving licence requirements as the main driver can be added as an additional driver, free of charge. An additional driver fee of 7.99 USD per day applies. The maximum fee is 80.00 USD.

After-hours pick-up

After-hours return

Currently, returns outside the opening hours are not offered at this location.

The minimum age requirement to hire all vehicles is 25. There is no maximum hire age. Young drivers may hire all vehicles. A young driver fee of 6.99 USD per day applies to all renters between the ages of 21 and 24.

Alamo Protection Package (APP) is a packaged product that includes Collision Damage Waiver - Theft Protection (CDW-TP), Excess Protection (EP), Third-Party Liability (TPL) and Roadside Assistance Plus (RAP) at a discounted price. APP is not insurance. If you purchase APP, the hire company contractually waives your responsibility for the cost of damage to, loss or theft of the vehicle, and up to the policy limits for damages and injuries to third parties during the hire period, subject to the actions listed on the rental agreement that invalidate the coverage as described in the rental agreement.

No excess applies.

Driving restricted within the island of St. Maarten only

Collision Damage Waiver and Theft Protection (CDW-TP) is not insurance. The purchase of CDW-TP is optional and not required in order to hire a vehicle. If you purchase CDW-TP, we agree, subject to the actions listed on the rental agreement that invalidate CDW-TP, to contractually waive your responsibility for the cost of damage to or theft of the vehicle, after the excess of up to $1,500.00 USD, depending on car class. If CDW-TP is declined, the renter is responsible for the full cost of damage to or the value of the vehicle.

Please be aware that most car insurance policies from outside St. Maarten do not provide coverage in St. Maarten. Employees of the local hire car company are not qualified to evaluate the adequacy of the customers personal car insurance coverage. The customer should contact their insurance company in advance of the pick-up date for the hire with any questions regarding their specific coverage.

One-way hires are currently not available.

As a customer, you have a choice as to how you would like to pay for fuel.

Option 1- We Refill
This option allows the renter to pay Alamo at the end of the rental for gas used but not replaced.  Price per gallon will be higher than local fuel prices.  A 50% surcharge will apply.

Option 2- You Refill
This option allows the renter to return the vehicle with a full tank of gas to avoid extra fuel charges.

All major credit cards, issued by either American Express, Mastercard, Visa and Discover Card, are accepted. All cards presented must be in the renter's name. Digital cards (Apple Pay/Google Pay etc.), traveller's cheques, prepaid cards, cash, debit cards and retail shop cards are not accepted as methods of payment. A security deposit plus the estimated cost of the hire will be taken at the time of hire. The deposit is 750 USD for all vehicle categories.

All drivers must present a fully valid driving licence. Electronic or digital driving licences are not accepted. No additional photo ID is required. A valid credit card in the renter's name must be presented upon collection of the vehicle. An international driving permit is not required. Renters who do not reside in the country of hire must provide accommodation information.

If selected and paid for at the time of hire, Roadside Assistance Plus (RSP) is available 24/7 without additional charges. RSP includes towing (not related to an accident), flat tyre service (if no inflated spare is available, the vehicle will be towed), jumpstarts and lockout service (if the keys are locked inside the vehicle). Tyre damage beyond repair as a result of driver neglect is the responsibility of the renter. RSP does not include the replacement of lost keys (including remote entry devices), and there will be a cost that will be added to the rental agreement.

Third Party Liability (TPL) is not insurance. The purchase of TPL is optional and not required in order to rent a vehicle. Customers can obtain coverage for damages and injuries to third parties under the local rental car company's insurance by purchasing its TPL protection. TPL provides you with liability coverage for all accident-related expenses pertaining third parties and for damages to third party vehicles, up to the policy limits, subject to the actions listed on the rental agreement that invalidate TPL.
